Yesterday, Sierra posted a meme from Possum that got me pondering.
Here are my thougts about it:
Regarding the wolve's imagination about eternally being born in many forms and travelling through eternity beautifully and romantically depicted in the meme:
To me this imagination is less attractive - unless God sends me on a mission to do His will.
I mean to say that the conditions of birth, oldage desease and death going along with life in the material world is for sure to be suffered within all dimensions in the material world, not enjoyable at all.
I, at least, don't like the aches and pains of my body.
In higher dimensions, I learned, there is enjoyment to a very very high degree and as good as no suffering.
That enjoyment has an end, when the time is up and one has to return to lower dimensions, or even forced to hellish situations according to the reactions of one's deeds.
In the spiritual traditions of the east this cyclicity of all life, matter, and existenc is known as samsara.
Naturally no one wants these conditions forced upon by the laws of material nature which in itself is a foreign soil to the eternal living entity - spark of God - the soul.
As eternal souls our original home is with our father, the best and most dear friend - God.
And why should God not have a consort, we can call mother? Father and Mother God!
The nature of our original home - the spiritual world - is one of eternity, full of bliss and knowledge. Our bodies there are of the same spiritual nature.
Eternally, in every moment, bliss and knowledge increase without limit.
Can we imagine what kind of love and loving relationships exist in this realm, our original home?
I strive toward this goal—to leave behind the real fundamental problems of life in the material world—birth, old age, sickness, and death—and, by the grace of God, to return home, back to God, never to return to the world of suffering.
And by the way - the majority of living entities exist in this realm. The minority by their own choices is existing in the world of dualilties - the material world with all her dimensions.
For those souls on a mission within this world of birth and death, God without a doubt is protecting from, minimizing or even eliminating material impacts.
We all have gone through a lot of experiences within this world, gained realizations and insights, developed and uncovered abilities of various kinds etc. Do we really feel, that we want to continue for eternity with all these unless we are on a mission in service for God?

Peter, I totally comprehend what you have conveyed here. While reading it my mind went to, if we hadn't had this 3D material experience we would not appreciate where we came from originally. My thought is not to dismiss the hijacking that made this experience darker than intended. May we have a calmer journey home. 💓

AntwortenLöschenI have been thinking a lot about the meme today and I have been so tired, and tired of being here on Earth. In the afternoon, as I looked at my old cat, thinking that he may not have much time left here on Earth, I began to cry and thought that maybe there's nothing wrong at all with the humans; it's this place, with pain, illness and death that is such a hard place to be. We come here with all our sympathy, beautiful dreams and our LOVE. We plant seeds, grow plants, introduce wonderful ideas and all we get is a disappointment to realize that it all will be taken away from us again, when we age and die. I will still let my love and light shine as long as I am here, but I am longing for home too, like the wolf in the picture, a place where everything that I love is not being taken away from me again and again. At least today I have felt very strongly, that Earth is NOT my home. It's just a place where I have to endure being until I can get away and return to my real home.
Perhaps I sound negative, but I didn't mean to. Some people call Buddha's teaching negative, but Buddha was not being negative; he just saw that life here on Earth is like that.

Hello Torsten, thank you for your thoughtful comment filled with insights and realization. So much love you are giving. It is not in vain all the good things we do and feel. A person who is doing good is never defeated by evil. It is recorded in the books of god and in the heavenly realms - of that I am sure.

Hi Peter, when I was studying Buddhism many years ago, I remember the teaching that to be human is very rare & precious. The example given is that of a blind turtle who only comes up to the surface of the ocean every hundred years putting its head through a hole of a log floating in the ocean. The chances of this happening is very rare, like striking lottery. So despite all the sufferings that a human has to endure, I'm very grateful that we got a chance like that - another chance to accumulate wisdom, learn from our mistakes, make moral choices & see through the illusion of reality. Hopefully this is our last lifetime as a collective.

I learned that example also by studying some basics on Vedic knowledge in the Vaishnava tradition also known as Vishnuism. The Vedanta sutra gives the method in form of aphorisms to understand vedic knowledge . It begins with "athato brahma jijnasa" meaning : (Having this human form) "Now is the time to inquire about the Absolute Truth"
LöschenI am longing for going back home, and if God wants me to stay in this world of duality for service I happily embrace that mission.
Material nature is also God's creation. Mother nature supports our journey - as you say with chances to accumulate wisdom etc. To me it is a wonderful thought being able to contribute for a better world in the making.
